A PEASANT had in his garden an Apple-Tree which bore no fruit but only served as a harbor for the sparrows and grasshoppers. He resolved to cut it down, and taking his axe in his hand, made a bold stroke at its roots. The grasshoppers and sparrows entreated him not to cut down the tree that sheltered them, but to spare it, and they would sing to him and lighten his labors. He paid no attention to their request, but gave the tree a second and a third blow with his axe. When he reached the hollow of the tree, he found a hive full of honey. Having tasted the honeycomb, he threw down his axe, and looking on the tree as sacred, took great care of it.

If Apple called its thinnest and lightest iPad the "Air", then what are we going to call Samsung's new device - which is 0.5mm thinner and 48 grams lighter than the Air 2?

We'd go with the Samsung Atom, if we were in charge of marketing. But we're not. So it's called the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Evidently, we should be in charge of marketing.

Like the Tab S, it's got that gorgeous 2048x1536 Super AMOLED display. There's an 8-inch version like before, but the 10.5 inch big boy has shrunken down to 9.7 inches. Must be chilly.

Under the hood you'll find an octacore processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32 or 64GB of internal memory. And as for software, you'll get Android 5.0 with TouchWiz - which adds multi-app multi-tasking and the usual Samsung gumpf.

The tablet has also got a pair of cameras, a fingerprint scanner, and a Micro SD card port for more space.

The Tab S2 will be available everywhere starting from August. Looks like a good shout for Android gamers. You can get all the specs over at Samsung's site.

The fewer the moves, the more likely you are to get the prestigious 'Perfect' sticker.

With over 100 new levels this simple concept is much trickier in practice as what seems complicated might be straight forward and vice-versa. What's more you've also go daily challenges to look forward to, and you can give making your own puzzle a go and share it with the community.

KAMI 2 is currently in soft-launch on the App Store in New Zealand and Australia.
This week at GDC, Oculus held a special event to reveal Minecraft in VR. Only this time it wouldn't be for the high-end Oculus Rift as we’ve previously seen, it was in fact for the Gear VR.

As part of the event I was able to enter the block filled landscape of Minecraft on the Gear VR. Not only did it look and feel excellent, being quick, responsive and beautiful to look at, but it was hard to tell that you were only playing this on your phone, and not some high-end PC.

However, Minecraft on the Gear VR may have far wider reaching implications for the future of VR when it is released this Spring. At least that’s what Oculus VR chief technology officer John Carmack, one of the men behind the iconic first-person shooters Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake, thinks.

Both when taking the stand to address the gathered press, and when talking with him one to one, Carmack was very keen to focus on how mobile VR will be the driving force in VR for quite a while to come. In fact, he already believes that the Gear VR is superior to other VR devices, thanks to its portable nature, and the ability to completely turn in a 360 degree motion.

That’s on top of its extremely affordable price point of $99. All of which Carmack believes makes the Gear VR the perfect first step for many into virtual reality, and the unique experiences only it can bring.

He also believes that just like in the early 90s when the First Person Shooter genre was breaking new ground, virtual reality is the perfect place in the industry to be right now. This right now is a genesis point for VR, a place which is all about new experiences and ways to play, and as such no longer predictable. And for Carmack, mobile VR is the perfect place to experience this, and from where to grow VR and all of the various experiences it brings.

Nevertheless, having Minecraft on the Gear VR is a massive boost for the platform, and one that will bring many into the VR fold. In fact, Carmack went as far as to say that in the year where VR finally goes mainstream, Minecraft for Gear VR “is going to be the most important game in VR this year.”

Nowadays Carmack has completely dedicated himself to the development of VR for mobile devices, believing that mobile VR will pave the way for millions to experience virtual reality. After both personally speaking with him, and having tested out various Gear VR games this week at GDC including Minecraft, it’s hard to argue with his analysis.

Now at its lowest price yet, Hitman: Sniper has been put on sale for both iOS and Android.

Instead of paying the full price of £3.99 / $4.99 you can grab it right now for £1.49 / $1.99.

It's a game about shooting people. Preferable in the face. But more specifically, you play as Agent 47 and are tasked in each mission with killing a target from a distance with your sniper rifle.

Sometimes this involves luring your target out into the open or setting up their death in a more complex way than simply pulling the trigger.

There are also extra challenges to take on such as scoring moving headshots and not getting detected.

We gave it a Bronze Award when it came out back in June. Our reviewer said that it's "a solid, good looking gallery shooter, but the little sparks of genius here can't help but make you wonder what could have been."

Good but not brilliant, then. Still, how can you not pick it up at such a cheap price? Head over to the App Store and Google Play right now to get Hitman: Sniper for cheap.
Did livery falseness in a pride of truth.
